Recently, billionaire heiress and film maker of Annapurna Films, Megan Ellis, obtained the rights to the Terminator franchise. Ellison will be the person in charge of making a fifth Terminator film and any other potential Terminator films (sequels, etc.) Ellison has the money and the rights, so what is stopping her from making a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles film or possibly continuing the popular television series? Since the television show was terminated before its time, leaving fans without any closure to the story, fans have desperately been trying to get the show back. http://www.savethescc.com/ is a site where fans from all around the world have come together to fight for the show. Other fan sites have joined the “resistance” as well. There is also a convention for the show where fans can rally and show their love for the show that will take place next year. The convention is called “No Fate Con,” named after Sarah Connor’s famous motto from the show. Visit http://www.nofatecon.com/ for details. To pay respects to the devoted fans and the vitality that they have given the Terminator franchise over the years, it is only right that Ellis ties up loose ends before starting her own chapter in the franchise. A Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles film would be perfect for that. It doesn’t even have to be a huge production. The devoted fans would be pleased with a ‘straight to DVD’ film, if that’s what it takes.
*CORRECTION: Pacificor has the rights to the franchise and would be responsible for a TSCC movie. Ellis has permission to do T5, but I don’t see why permission can’t be granted to do a TSCC movie.
The video game franchise, Tomb Raider, is getting a reboot. Reboots seem to be a trend in entertainment these days. Let’s just hope it’s done right this time. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics amped up the franchise with Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Tomb Raider Underworld and now they are taking a shot at the origins of Lara Croft. Origin stories also seem to be a trend. I have played all of the Tomb Raider games and have been a big fan since the beginning. I’ve enjoyed what Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have done and I am very excited to see what they are doing with the new game. They have uses these phrases in promoting the game, Lara Croft: The Evolution and A Survivor is Born: The New Lara Croft.
After the news broke out about the reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, fans were devastated because the film was reportedly being done without Buffy creator, Joss Whedon. Joss released a statement about his disappointment of the reboot idea. Well, it turns out that statement was a bit misleading. Fans thought that the Buffy reboot was being done despite Joss Whedon, but in fact, Joss was offered to be a part of the project but declined (according to cinema blend). The fact that Joss obviously does not want the reboot to be made, especially without him, should still be a good enough reason for fans to continue to be against the film. Besides, the movie will suck without Joss anyway. It can’t truly be Buffy without him. So, although this is somewhat disappointing news, it doesn’t change much. The movie will still go on and the fans will still be against it.
It is up to us, the fans, to make sure our voices are heard and let the film’s producers know how we are displeased about a Buffy film without it’s creator, Joss Whedon.
One step we can take is to sign this petition HERE.
We must save Buffy from this disaster and give Joss Whedon the respect that he deserves. Buffy has saved the world from an apocalypse countless times. Now, it’s our turn!
Senator McCain, an influential advocate for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” avoids questions and tries to show that he knows what he’s talking about, but seems not to say much.
Lady Gaga’s attempt to persuade the Senate to repeal the stay in the closet if you’re in the military bill also known as “Don’t ask, don’t tell, has failed. “Don’t ask, don’t tell” shows that America doesn’t mind if you fight and die for you’re country, you just can’t be open about you’re personal life. If you ask me, “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is a joke. You don’t want people to know you have gay soldiers? Isn’t it obvious they’re gay? Haven’t you seen their boots? Oh, everyone has to wear those? While the soldiers are strapping on ammo and grenades, the gay soldiers call it “accessorizing.” Okay, enough with the bad jokes. In all seriousness, “Don’t ask, don’t tell” takes rights away from brave, hardworking Americans who should be thanked for their services rather than shamed for being themselves. As Americans, we need to fight for equality for ALL, not just for the majority. You can watch Lady Gaga’s youtube message to the Senate HERE.
Former President, Bill Clinton, says that when “Don’t ask, don’t tell” was passed in 1993, he was misled about the bill. Clinton says, “I accepted it because it was better than an absolute ban,” Clinton said. “I was promised it would be better than it was.” He also says, “Gay service members would never get in trouble for going to gay bars, marching in gay rights parades as long as they weren’t in uniform … That was what they were promised. That’s a very different ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ than we got.” Read the full article HERE. I think Clinton would agree that “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is a mistake that needs to be fixed.
Glenn Beck married his wife and joined the Mormon church just for sex! What a jerk! He’s holding a rally that is supported by the Tea party, which is suppose to be non-political, but it’s all about politics. To make things more ridiculous, the rally is held at the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous speech where he appealed to the government. Beck’s “restoring honor” rally is being held for, as Beck said, “reclaiming the civil rights movement.” Beck claims that the date of his rally and MLK’s anniversary is just a coincidence, but many believe it was intentional. A debate goes on about the rally being disrespectful to King, but the rally will still go on. The people behind the rally, the Tea Party, were against building a Mosque near ground zero because it was “disrespectful” to the victims of 9/11. Does the rally make them hypocrites?
