Tomb Raider Video Game Reboot
10 12 2010The video game franchise, Tomb Raider, is getting a reboot. Reboots seem to be a trend in entertainment these days. Let’s just hope it’s done right this time. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics amped up the franchise with Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Tomb Raider Underworld and now they are taking a shot at the origins of Lara Croft. Origin stories also seem to be a trend. I have played all of the Tomb Raider games and have been a big fan since the beginning. I’ve enjoyed what Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have done and I am very excited to see what they are doing with the new game. They have uses these phrases in promoting the game, Lara Croft: The Evolution and A Survivor is Born: The New Lara Croft.

Joss Whedon Turned Down Buffy
1 12 2010After the news broke out about the reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, fans were devastated because the film was reportedly being done without Buffy creator, Joss Whedon. Joss released a statement about his disappointment of the reboot idea. Well, it turns out that statement was a bit misleading. Fans thought that the Buffy reboot was being done despite Joss Whedon, but in fact, Joss was offered to be a part of the project but declined (according to cinema blend). The fact that Joss obviously does not want the reboot to be made, especially without him, should still be a good enough reason for fans to continue to be against the film. Besides, the movie will suck without Joss anyway. It can’t truly be Buffy without him. So, although this is somewhat disappointing news, it doesn’t change much. The movie will still go on and the fans will still be against it.

Wonder Woman Reboot
3 07 2010Wonder Woman #600 has brought a new story and style to Wonder Woman. The issue is grittier than the previous Wonder Woman comics. The origin of Wonder Woman has changed, giving her ties to Humans as well as Amazons. She has less powers in this issue, but she may develop them as the story continues. The most drastic change is her outfit. Sorry guys, but the famous blue panties are gone…and replaced with pants! It looks like the feminists have won this time. It’s not so bad though. She’s still hot and she kicks ass!
Designer of the costume, Jim Lee says, “She’s been locked into pretty much the exact same outfit since her debut in 1941,” said Straczynski in the article . “If you’re going to make a statement about bringing Wonder Woman into the 21st century, you need to be bold and you need to make it visual. I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility. The original costume was the American flag brought to life,” said Lee. “This one is a little more universal.”
Wonder Woman #600 is in stores now.

No More Spiderman 4…until 2012
12 01 2010Spiderman 4 has been canned! Apparently, Sam Raimi wanted the Vulture to be the villain in the movie and Columbia Pictures really didn’t like it. So, instead of have a sequel, Sam Raimi and the original cast are being booted and the Spiderman movie franchise will be getting a fresh start. With a whole new cast and director, Spiderman will be rebooted in 2012. This time the story will be focused on Peter Parker as a teenager. When it comes to Comic book movies, it worries me that they will ruin the story or it will just be crap. Sam Raimi seemed to do a pretty good job, I just hope the reboot will be better.
