Whedon to Direct The Avengers

Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is in talks to direct Marvel’s The Avengers movie. After rumors of many possibilities for directors, it is starting to look like Marvel has made their choice. Even though they have not officially commented on it, Whedon seems to be the choice. The Avengers movie is expected to star Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evan as Captain America, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Edward Norton could possibly play The Hulk, but it seems unlikely. The Avengers movie may also include heroes such as The Wasp and Scarlet Witch. The Avengers is expected to start shooting in early 2011.

I think Joss Whedon is a great pick. I’m a big fan of his and I think he would do very well. He has experience in comics with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Astonishing X Men. Joss Whedon is Marvel’s best choice for director yet. Finally we have someone directing a super hero movie who actually knows about super heroes.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Pilot

The script is nearly the same as episode 1 of season 1, but the ending is different. Also, Alyson Hannigan doesn’t play Willow in the pilot. I love how Joss Whedon uses the perfect combination of action and comedy.
